Social Objectives

As a social enterprise company, CHWB’s profits are reinvested directly into the local community, for the benefit of people who would otherwise not be able to afford health and wellbeing services. Our aim is to improve the lives of suffers of long-term conditions such as:-

  • Diabetes

  • Parkinson’s Disease

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Respiratory conditions

  • Epilepsy

  • Depression

  • Obesity

Initially, we will run a series of pilot projects based on one of these long-term health conditions - Diabetes. These pilot projects will primarily target people living in areas of high social deprivation where the incidence of such long-term conditions is much higher than the national average. Bespoke programmes of health improvement will be offered to both patients and carers, where appropriate, thereby allowing them to play an active role in their own healthcare.

In the longer term we hope to assist with the establishment of a social enterprise model of healthcare that can then be replicated across Scotland and the UK.
